《鬼平》讲述了时值江户后期，有一个被极其暴虐的盗贼们称为“鬼”并畏惧着的男人。这个人正是“鬼之平藏”火付盗贼改方·长谷川平藏。火付盗贼改方，是特别警察的一种，不仅负责取缔江户市内外的犯罪，还能去他国抓捕犯罪者，是一个机动性很高的组织。然而平藏并不是个只忠于职务的顽固男人，有时也会对犯罪者手下留情。平藏绝不容许的，是非人道。《盗贼三项》——不杀人，不奸污妇女，不偷盗要倒闭的店——一旦违反这三条，背弃人道的人则决不饶恕。。Inspired by Istanbul-born Armenian intellectual Eremya Celebi Komurciyan's travel diaries from the 17th century, Invisible to the Eye traces this particular itinerary in today’s Istanbul.
