该剧讲述了一个跨越两千年的爱情故事。公元前，秦始皇爱上了民女韩冬儿，而韩冬儿却与武将蒙天放互生情愫。三人之间的爱怨情仇纠缠不清，最终韩冬儿蹈火自焚，蒙天放变成活人俑。转眼来到民国，白云飞携剧组来西安拍戏，蓝天和朱莉莉再度聚首，却不知剧组此行另有隐情。在乱世中，情天怨种应劫而生，他们的故事在轮回中继续上演。。When a casino owning dog named Charlie is murdered by his rival Carface, he finds himself in Heaven basically by default since all dogs go to heaven. However, since he wants to get back at his killer, he cons his way back to the living with the warning that doing that damns him to Hell. Once back, he teams with his old partner, Itchy to prep his retaliation. He also stumbles on to an orphan girl who can talk to the animals, thus allowing him to get the inside info on the races to ensure his wins。
