高中生日暮窦子（铃川纱由 配音）拥有看见其他人内心颜色的能力，她憧憬着同学作永君（高石明里 配音）身上亮丽的色彩。作永退学后，窦子在小镇的旧书店找到了她，并结识了同样拥有明亮色彩的少年影平路易（木户大圣 配音）。在窦子的提议下三人组成了乐队，开始创作起属于自己的歌曲。因音乐结缘的三人关系逐渐拉进，却也各怀心事：窦子一直隐瞒着自己“能够看见他人颜色”的秘密；作永向家人隐瞒了自己退学的事实，路易则瞒着母亲搞起了乐队……
随着校园庆典的临近，从音乐中获得安慰与力量的三人，在日吉子老师（新垣结衣 配音）等人的帮助下，决定用人生的第一场演唱会直面真实的自己。。An affluent medical professor, Komiya, and his bossy wife, Tokio, are to look after Setsuko, their high-spirited niece from Osaka.
