福建晋江的围头村与金门岛隔海相望，今年“七夕”情人节这天，围头村要举办“返亲节”，“返亲节”的内容就是“围头村”嫁到金门岛的新娘回家探亲。为了办好“返亲节”，村长决定由村小学的学生组建一支“啦啦”队在“返亲节”上表演，“啦啦”队由村里的体育老师负责排练，四个顽皮的孩子被选进了“啦啦”队，他们不愿意暑假的玩乐时间被排练占据，想尽办法逃避每天的排练。体育老师终于忍无可忍将四个孩子开除，可四个孩子却觉得被开除很丢人，他们重新回到“啦啦”队认真排练，开始协助体育老师将舞蹈排练成功……。讲述了风韵犹存的单身母亲黛比（露易丝·布瑞丽 Louise Brealey 饰）在丈夫离家出后，她和两个女儿乔茜（凯特·萨德勒 Kat Sadler 饰）和比莉（丽兹·戴维森 Lizzie Davidson 饰）试图把生活重新拼凑起来的故事。。It’s 1958 and trouble is brewing in the Cambridgeshire village of Grantchester.
